The Multiple Organ Therapy System for Organ Recovery Systems (ORS) is a clinical medical instrument that provides therapy and diagnostics for human kidneys awaiting transplantation.
Designed to provide simultaneous treatment for two organs, the device incorporates dual controls, displays and temperature controlled organ vessels. Formation configured the device to take maximum advantage of lab space while providing high thermal efficiency and ease of use. This is the first device of its kind with an internet based tele-medicine capability. This allows transplant surgeons to remotely view organs and their performance characteristics.
Formation’s design team met an aggressive six month schedule and lead all aspects of development from research to the construction of the first functional prototype. The design of Multiple Organ Therapy System received an ID Magazine Award in 2001 and an IDEA Award in 2002.
